Jon has been leading worship in New England for 25 years.  He is often a featured song leader at camp meetings in the summer or planning community music events.  Jon and his wife Laura started coming to CCOA in 2015.  He leads the choir and worship team, plays the organ and the piano and puts dramas and other programs together for the church.

Jon and Laura have three boys, the youngest is still at home and a freshman at high school.  All of the boys play instruments and Jon enjoys playing along with his family.  When Jon is not working or serving at the church, he enjoys spending time with his family doing whatever they want to do.

Jon's favorite verse is Phillipians 3:13-14.  13 No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it,[d] but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, 14 I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.

If you are looking for Cheryl in the Springtime you will most likely find her in her gardens.  It is where she relaxes and reflects.  If Cheryl is bursting with creativity she will be drawing or painting.   Both gardening and art are whereCheryl can spend hours.

Cheryl has  been married to her college sweetheart for over four decades and thanks God every day for allowing her to be his wife.  They have been blessed with beautiful children and grandchildren.

One of her deepest joys is living out God's design  for in working with children.  It is actually the reason God brought them to CCOA. She work as Site Director with the After School Ministry.  It reminds her of a line in the movie Chariots of Fire,  "When I run, I feel God's pleasure."  For Cheryl, when she can teach that is exactly how she feels.

Director of Preschool

Bethany Miller

For the past 25 years Bethany has served as a full-time missionary with Child Evangelism Fellowship of New Hampshire where she has taught God’s Word to children of all ages, has prepared curriculum for all of their ministries and has trained volunteers so the Word of God could be spread even farther. Bethany has also taught in a Christian preschool and has taught the preschool children’s church class in her local church for 32 years. Her passion for teaching God’s Word to children and her love of preschoolers are two factors that have kept her motivated to remain faithful throughout the years. The main factor, however, is her love for God and her life verse – “What shall I return to the Lord for all his goodness to me?” Psalm 116:12. Continuing her service to God as the director of Joyful Footsteps Preschool, Bethany is excited to help the children understand what a wonderful Savior they have.

Bethany lives in Laconia with her cousin, Laura. While continuing to worship and serve in her home church, Bethany is also looking forward to getting to know the family of the Community Church of Alton. In her free time Bethany enjoys event planning, mysteries and spending time with friends and family.

Hank has been retired from the State of CT since 1990 and moved to NH and built his own house.

The Community Church of Alton became his home Church where he married his wife Donna

in the Church in 1996.  Years ago,he was  asked  to serve on the Board of Trustees and he

did so faithfully for 13 years.  Hank likes to fix, repair, and build things.  There is always a project

at the Church and it could be painting, building a sound room, decorating the Sanctuary for Christmas,

building shelf's, checking the furnaces, frozen pipes, replacing light bulbs, moving chairs and

tables and a number of other things that need attending to. Hank likes to see the kids happy so his latest

project was moving a sandbox from the Church grounds over to the parsonage field and also putting

together a gaga-pit for the After School Program and the Youth.  In his spare time, Hank I likes to sing in the

Choir, fill his wood shed, do a few puzzles in the Winter months and keep up with Nascar.
