Our Beliefs

We believe the Bible is the inspired revelation of God to humanity, and that it is the sole written authority for Christian belief and living. We believe in God the Father, infinite in wisdom, goodness and love; and in Jesus Christ, His Son, our Lord and Savior, who for us and our salvation lived and died and rose again and lives forever more; and in the Holy Spirit, who takes of the things of Christ and reveals them to us, renewing, comforting and inspiring the souls of believers.

We hold it to be the mission of the church to proclaim the gospel to all people, exalting the worship of the triune God, laboring for the progress of knowledge, promoting justice and peaceful relations among all. We strive to know the will of God in our purpose to walk in the ways of the Lord as taught in the Holy Scriptures.

We seek the religious education of our children and the nurture of their social life; working together in brotherly love; in remembering each other in prayer and aiding each other in sickness and distress; cultivating Christian sympathy in feeling, justice in our dealings and courtesy in speech, ever striving for mutual understanding and thus avoiding offense as set forth in the rule of our Savior.

We strive for the advancement of this church in knowledge, kindness, prosperity, spirituality and growth of the soul; in sustaining the worship, rites, discipline and teachings of this church; in contributing cheerfully to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, according to the teachings of Scripture.

Depending, as did our ancestors, upon the continued guidance of the Holy Spirit to lead us into all truth, we work and pray for the transformation of the world for the sake of Jesus Christ our Lord; and we look with faith for the triumph of righteousness and life everlasting.
